A VICTORIAN penguin-killer, an intrepid traveller, ugly sisters and a Christmas grinch . . . it seems theatre season is hotting up in Gisborne with both amateur and professional works on offer.
This week sees the presentation of Whangarei crew Company Of Giants’s work Rangitahua: The Stopping Off Place andAuckland actor Stuart Devenie’s one-man show Hatch: The Wildly Tragic Tale Of Joseph Hatch — both at Tairawhiti Museum and both related to the visual arts exhibition Kermadec: Lines In The Ocean.
That will be followed by next week’s launch of two local shows.
On Thursday (November 12) Gisborne Homeschool Group presents a one-off performance of its seasonal show How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
The next night, Gisborne Unity Theatre launches its six-night run of one-woman show Shirley Valentine, starring Gill Fraser.
