Oranges and lemons… and grapefruit. A fruitful adventure north to the Bay of Islands gives this drink a warm citrusy glow.
Ingredients
1 Tbsp | Sugar |
1 pot | Earl grey tea |
1 handful | Fresh mint |
1 serving | Freshly squeezed orange juice |
1 | Orange, sliced |
1 serving | Grapefruit juice |
Directions
- Make a pot of earl grey tea, add 1 tbsp sugar and steep fresh mint leaves in it while it's cooling down. Refrigerate.
- To make the julep, strain the tea. Crush ice into tall glasses, half fill with freshly squeezed citrus juice, (I used a mix of orange and grapefruit).
- Top up with tea, garnish with fresh mint and an orange slice.
- For an alcoholic version add a shot or two of a white spirit.
