A thank-you morning tea was organised for the knitters and other contributors who support Te Puke Plunket.
Knitting needles and yarn were left at home as Te Puke Plunket last week said thank you to those who have donated their time to keep babies warm.
Individual knitters, members of the Knit and Natter group at Te Puke Library and other Plunket supporters were recognised for their effortsat an end-of-year morning tea.
The combined efforts of the knitters produce cot blankets, matinee jackets, jumpers, beanies, slippers, teddies and other items.
These are then passed on to the parents as needed.
Other groups that assist and which were invited to the morning tea were Te Puke Anglican Church, Kiwicoast Lions, Rotary and Rural Women New Zealand.
Te Puke Kiwicoast Lions, Athol White Family Trust, Hargreaves Trust all helped out and raffles plus two philanthropic donations helped reach the $15,000 target, with Archgola also helping with a discount.
The branch also wants to thank Sue Matthews for her hard work and dedication.
