The girls' 1st XI started the season with a 3-2 win over Te Puke High School and Mount Milan boys' team who are playing in the Premier competition lost 2-4 against a very strong Rotorua United U19 team. Mount Red Boys lost 2-5 against Trident 1st XI in the Division 1 U19 competition.

Rugby

It was a mixed bag starting with a 123-7 win for the U14s over Tauranga Boys' C team.
The U15s lost to Tauranga Boys' B but now have a good base to build their performance on.

The 1st XV came up against a tough Te Puke High School. The boys were in the game, dominating possession and territory early in the second half. However, Te Puke ran away with the game with four tries in the last eight minutes.

All MMC teams impressed their coaches in how they presented themselves on and off the field. We expect the boys to improve every week.

Duathlon

Sam Sheaff and Kaia McKenzie competed in the Waihi Half Nugget duathlon on Saturday.
The event consisted of a 10km off-road run, followed by a 23km mountain bike ride.

Both courses are quite challenging. Sam Sheaff completed the run and was the first team competitor into the transition area. Kaia then had a good ride back down into Waihi, which meant the boys won the under-18 teams' division.
