Western Bay of Plenty Schools Gymsport Festival was held at Argos Gym. Rythmic Club A (Level 7-9) Tessa McPherson 1, Elena McPherson 2 and Brynya Downie 3. Hockey
BC Boys 1st XI made a solid start to the season with a win over the Mount 1st XI Boys in the Tauranga Hockey Secondary School Division 1 Competition. BC won 7-0 with goals to Matthew Davis (3), Simon Fraser-Mackenzie (2) and Ethan Bos and Frederik Kern. Rory McGillivray (GK) held the Mount scoreless. Our 1st XI girls also had an excellent start, the result was a 5-0 win over Otumoetai Juniors.
Eight Year 7 to 10 Bethlehem College students competed at the North Island Secondary Schools Orienteering Championships from April 28-30 in the Hawkes Bay. The team was Declan Lang (Yr7), Toby Roberts (Yr7), Maxton Venimore (Yr7), Caleb Browne (Yr7), Ella Claydon (Yr8), Hannah Turner (Yr 9), Brehana Venimore (Yr9) and Georgia Browne (Yr10). The team of four Year 7 Boys earned Bethlehem College fourth place (of 16 schools) in the Top Schools points for Year 7/8 Boys category. The Junior Girls team placed 13th of 29 schools. Each student performed exceedingly well. Underwater hockey: Emma Byrom has recently been selected in the New Zealand Under 18 squad which will compete in Hobart in July.
