A record attendance is likely for the Christmas at the Races day to be held at the Tauranga Racecourse tomorrow.
Sponsorship and marketing manager for Racing Tauranga, Don Paterson, says the event is into its fifth year and continues to go from strength to strength.
"This is the third inour series of Christmas at the Races and our second one in November was sold out, and this one is sold out for corporate guests.
"It is sponsored by local chartered accountants Young, Read, Woudberg, who have been with us four years, and it is just a massive social occasion.
"That is what it is all about. People get together and celebrate with either their clients or their work mates, families are involved, and some schools as well, as secondary school teachers break up at lunchtime tomorrow.
"We have had everyone from government departments to the Police here.
"We have 1200 customers on course tomorrow, who have pre-booked, but there is plenty room on the lawn for people to come along, bring their own gazebos, and enjoy themselves.
"We are really looking forward to it. All the lounges are decorated in Christmas themes and it is all about celebration."
