Young fans turned out to pit their skills against members of the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic at a netball roadshow in Mount Maunganui at the weekend.

About 400 netballers were shooting, passing and getting autographs from Magic players Jodi Tod-Elliot, Erena Mikaere and Kendra Falefitu at the ANZ Netball Roadshow at the Harbourside Netball Centre at the Harbourside Netball Centre on Saturday.

The budding players turned out for a morning of coaching sessions, a photo with the ANZ Championship Trophy and the chance to get on court with their idols.

ANZ head of sponsorship Susan McGregor hoped the experience would encourage young players to aim high and aspire to play in the ANZ Championship.

"The ANZ Netball Roadshow was designed for netballers to have some fun learning and testing their skills against their mates, while giving them the opportunity to get up close with elite players."
