Te Puke Sports defeated Tauranga Sports 18-3 in the big clash of the round between the two previously unbeaten sides in the Bayfair Baywide Premier competition on Saturday afternoon.

No 8 Eru Wano-Smith scored both tries for Te Puke Sports in the first half as the home side led at the break by 15-3.

Te Puke wore pink jerseys as part of the club's fundraising drive today for breast cancer research. $2000 was collected at the gate before the match.

Baywide Division One: Kahukura 52 Galatea 5, Te Teko 17 Rangiuru 15, Katikati 27 Ruatoki 5, Poroporo 84 Reporoa 0, Marist St Michaels 22 Judea 12, Arataki won by default.

Baywide Development: Te Puke Sports 15 Tauranga Sports 12, Whakatane Marist 41 Whakarewarewa 12, Te Puna 54 Waikite 5, Mount Maunganui 24 Greerton Marist 15, Rotoiti 59 Paroa 7, Rangataua 24 Opotiki 15.
