Cross country: Top Intermediate school athletes opened the 10th AIMS Games with the Cross Country Championships on Sunday, 15 September which was held at Waipuna Park. There was a lot of competition this year as this event has just got bigger and bigger. The large crowd created a great atmosphere, the weather was awesome and the students were buzzing with excitement for that first place. Our results were impressive with us winning the following. Year 7 girls 1st place individual was Abigail Mortimer with the 2nd place team event going to Abigail Mortimer, Sarah Ensor and Grace Blissett. Year 8 girls 2nd place individual was Arleah Tippins. The 1st place team event going to Arleah Tippins Ruby Evans and (GEO) Clement. Year 8 boys 2nd individual was Zedek Macklow with the 2nd place team going to Zedek Macklow Jamie Shields and Nick Freeman. The race finished with us taking out the School Championship 12m relay with a first overall going to Zedek Macklow, Victor MacFarlane, Thomas Randhawa, Nick Freeman, Tom Scott, Josh Tisch, Harry Low, Arleah Tippins, Ruby Evans and Abbie Mortimer.

Swimming: Our team had a very good successful couple of nights at Baywave. All our swimmers did amazingly well and were able to set new personal best times for themselves. We came away on Tuesday evening with 10 medals and a trophy and a placing of second in the competition. A highlight of the night was our team winning the medley relay and setting a new games record.

Medals won so far: Bronze - Caelan Potts (50 Free), Caelan Potts (100 Back), Thomas Hacker (100 Fly), Thomas Chaney (50 Breast ), Thomas Chaney (100 IM), Connie-Pearl Anderson (50 Fly); Silver - Caelan Potts (50 Back), Caelan Potts (200 Back); Gold Connie-Pearl Anderson, Taituha Woller, Thomas Chaney, Caelan Potts (Freestyle relay team), Connie-Pearl Anderson, Thomas Chaney, Caelan Potts, Harry Low (200 IM Relay team) and the cup for the overall team points.

Basketball: The boys' and girls' basketball teams have been having some great games. Monday saw our boys' team win against Aquinas with a 33-11 score at halftime. The final result: 57-26 to us.

Gymsport: A great start to the opening at Argos Gym on Tuesday. The Boys Rhythmic Flyers team of Andre Jian Dunuan, Jerramiah Hay, Te Hiringa Hunt and Dylan Hill came first. Girls Trampoline Flyers: Tazmin March, Kodi Fairhurst, Teresa Iaccarino and Charlotte Robinson came second. The Boys Trampoline Twister of Chanse Te Hira, Thankas Hacker and Ben Maxwell placed third.
