Time is the most precious gift you can give someone, and with this in mind, a Tauranga company has come up with a customer focused solution offering time back to locals.

Home maintenance is a time stealer with homeowners needing to organise five or six different services, or spending time doing it themselves.

Hose n' Ladders is a new business that gives you back this time.

An offshoot of local house cleaning experts Chemwash, Hose n' Ladders was created because there is a gap in the market, says director Warren Preston.

"We were getting more and more requests for scheduled property care and we realised people just want to 'set and forget' when it comes to jobs around the house. We want to give our customers what they need and created this business to do just that," he says.

"Having home maintenance services scheduled throughout the year means people don't have the hassle and worry about doing anything themselves. They can then spend more time doing what they want, on the golf course, or with their families."

Hose n' Ladders offers home owners key services including low pressure house washing, window washing, gutter clearing, pest control, path and driveway clearing, moss and mould treatment. These services are scheduled by Hose n' Ladders throughout the year and customers can choose from four plans ranging from basic to deluxe. The subscription based service also gives customers different payment options.

"This is a new level of service where you just have to go to our website and click on your plan. It immediately takes five or six things off your annual 'to do list'. It doesn't have to be expensive as you can tailor a plan to suit. We visit your property every three months, and you have different payment options," says Warren.

"With Christmas coming up, this is a practical gift idea. I can see it working for practice managers wanting a gift for busy executives, business partners as well as their clients. And it also works for families wanting to keep loved ones safe and off ladders," he says.

The necessity of regular home maintenance is often underestimated. It's essential however, if you want to keep your biggest asset in good repair and save money."Regular cleaning needs to be done as it keeps up the warranty on your paint and prevents water damage with blocked spouting," says Warren.

Despite this, people often put home maintenance in the too hard basket. "We often get called out to clean houses that aren't in a good state as people have not had regular work done. Having a schedule of maintenance means people's homes gets the regular care they need. They sparkle throughout the whole year, not just every once in a while."

Safety is another big issue with house maintenance. Cleaning hard to reach areas while tottering on a ladder is hard at the best of times. It can be disaster for the elderly. As a result, elderly people can feel they have no option but to move to retirement villages, despite wanting to stay in their own homes.

"ACC stats are horrific for older people in New Zealand with men over the age of 60 having the largest number of falls off ladders. If you want to keep your elderly parents safe, or even younger family members off ladders and on the ground, this is a great option for them. This is a great practical gift for Christmas," says Warren.

With a Hose n' Ladders service you get the benefits of a Chemwash clean - New Zealand's leading exterior cleaning company. The system uses detergents that are environmentally responsible, gen-tly emulsifying surface grime, and killing mould and mildew.

Windows sparkle with the streak free Miracle Window Finish allowing more light into your home.

Hose 'n' Ladders use a low pressure process to remove grime build up on concrete pavers and brick work, while specialist deck and fence treatments are used to clean and restore surfaces back to their original colour.

Where appropriate, spray and leave mould and lichen treatments may also be used on surfaces such as roofing, decks, pavers and driveways.

If pest control is required, exterior barrier spray is used to control insects and pests after surfaces have been cleaned.

"With our tailored plans, we eliminate the drag of people having to do any organising, timetabling, or any work at all. You only have to deal with one trusted company and all the work is done to a set schedule. Then you know it's done and dusted for a whole year leaving you free to get out and en-joy life, hassle free," says Warren.
