1-Daughter attacked, mother intimidated: Circled 'like a pack of wolves'

A Bay mother says a group of girls who filmed themselves carrying out what she describes as a brutal attack on her daughter circled her "like a pack of wolves" when she confronted them about it.
Police are investigating
two separate cases of groups of bullies attacking teenage girls in the city.


2-Family in tears after boy shot with BB gun at Tauranga Boys' College

A high school student was held down and shot in the leg with a BB gun by bullies who later joked about it on social media.

The Year 9 boy with mild Asperger Syndrome was also roughed up in Tauranga Boys' College toilets and "tormented" on the way home.

3-Police name man who died in crash near Tauranga

The man who died in a two-car crash on State Highway 29 on Saturday night near Tauranga was Adrian Carlisle Hetet. The 43-year-old was from Tauranga.


4-$20 million cocaine bust in Tauranga is biggest seizure in NZ

Four men have been arrested after $20 million in cocaine was seized in Tauranga.
A five-month long inquiry by Customs and police uncovered 46kg of the drug - the largest single seizure of cocaine in New Zealand - at an address in Tauranga early this morning.


5-Woman rescued from 2.5m soak hole in Mount Maunganui

Firefighters have rescued a woman from a soak hole in Mount Maunganui this morning after the ground gave way beneath her.
The hole is about 2.5m deep and is located behind a block of shops in Commerce Lane.
