It's hard to imagine being hit in the face by a snowball at Mount Maunganui.
But on this warm January day, it seems anything is possible as tonnes of snow from Mount Ruapehu has been dumped at Mount Drury reserve.
Holidaymakers and locals of all ages were enjoying the novelty
of playing in the snow, right next to Mount main beach.
