Two women were flown to hospital after a quad bike rolled near the small settlement of Omaio.
The Tauranga-based TECT Trustpower rescue helicopter was called to Te Kaha medical centre at 12.30pm today.
Two females has serious arm and chest injuries while a third woman involved had no major injuries.
The patients were stabilised by St John paramedics and Te Kaha medical centre doctors before being flown to Whakatane Hospital.
The helicopter was called because of the distance by road to the hospital.
