The annual Omokoroa No 1 School moer racing returns this weekend. PHOTO/FILE

Keen on some lawn mower racing? Or how about actual racing - horse racing? There are a few exciting events happening in Tauranga this weekend. Check out what's on below.

Omokoroa No. 1 School Mower Racing
When: Sunday, 10am to 3pm
Where: Emeny Rd, Plummers Point
The mower race day is back for
its 11th year and it promises to be bigger and better than before. It's a great day out that offers entertainment for the whole family. There'll be Oceania Helicopter rides, the Bay's biggest silent auction, bouncy castles, second-hand clothes, books and toys stalls.

Tauranga Christmas at the Races
When: Saturday, from 9.30am
Where: Tauranga Racecourse, Cameron Rd, Greerton
Soak up the party atmosphere at Tauranga's Christmas at the Races. There are three fantastic events and a range of hospitality options to choose from. Treat yourself and your guests to spirited thoroughbred racing mixed with a whole lot of festive fun.

Tauranga Marine Show
When: Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 4pm
Where: The Strand
Boats, fishing, seafood, water sports and marine life all on show for you to enjoy. This year's show is all about understanding, appreciating, respecting, learning, enjoying and growing our marine industry sector. Entry $10, under 14 free.

Original Gypsy Fair
When: Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 5pm
Where: Memorial Park, Devonport Rd
The annual fair will be back at Memorial Park and is set to be another great event. There'll be an interesting range of hand-crafted products sold exclusively at the Original Gypsy Fair, many of which are made before your very eyes. Free entry.

Chill 'n' Grill BBQ Evening
When: Sunday 5.30pm to 8.30pm
Where: Tauranga RSA, 1237 Cameron Rd
Join us at the Tauranga RSA for some "chillin 'n' grillin" at our BBQ Evening. Adult BBQ Dining: $12. Child BBQ Dining: $12. Additional fees may apply.
