Whangamatā rider Ben Rosendaal clinches NZ superbike title

Adrenalin junkie Ben Rosendaal is riding a superbike high after taking out a prestigious title last month.

The 30-year-old Whangamatā rider has just finished the 2019 New Zealand Superbike Championships where he rode to victory and won the 650 Pro Twins.

No stranger to podium finishes, Rosendaal has clocked up some impressive performances in his career and is a tough competitor on the track.

He won the same title in 2015 and in 2017 he raced at the Isle of Man and placed second in two races.

He likes to win and is not afraid to admit ''I'm a bit of a speed freak''.

''I suppose it's the adrenalin and it's pretty exciting.''

But he says the build-up to any race can be full of pressure.

''I get nervous but I'm competitive and focused on winning.''

He's been racing for 10 years and used to have a road bike ''but I thought that was too dangerous so I got into racing around a track''.

Now Rosendaal is determined to keep up his winning streak and has his sights set on 2020.
