Welcome Bay vehicle crash: Van rolls

Emergency services are at the scene where a vehicle has crashed in Welcome Bay, Tauranga.

Emergency services are responding to a single vehicle crash in Welcome Bay, Tauranga.

Fire and Emergency Northern Communications Centre shift manager Joshua Pennefather said a van had rolled on Welcome Bay Rd.

“The crash is between Rocky Cutting Rd and Reid Rd,” Pennefather said.

Police said the crash was reported about 1.30pm.

“The road appears partially blocked,” police said.

“No injuries have been reported.”

Pennefather said two fire trucks were sent, one from Mount Maunganui and one from Tauranga.

“No persons were trapped,” Pennefather said.

“We currently have one fire truck in attendance, and we are assisting police.”
