WHAT: Shake It!" Dance Showcase. A two-hour showcase featuring some of New Zealand's best Latin dancers bringing their passion for dance to Tauranga.

WHAT: Homecomings: From Tauranga to the Trenches. A unique exhibition that explores the experiences of local soldiers returning home, weather dependent.

WHAT: Field of Remembrance – Honouring Our Fallen. One hundred and nine white crosses are at the heart of commemorating the armistice that ended the First World War in 1918. The crosses will be installed at dawn in the lead-up to Armistice Day and form the Field of Remembrance.
WHERE: Tauranga Waterfront, cadets from the Western Bay of Plenty Cadet Unit, along with the assistance of other units in the area will bring the crosses out at dawn until November 8. Free event.

WHAT: Hoopnation. New Zealand's Biggest Pro-Am Basketball event. 144 teams have entered and 389 games of basketball will played on 12 courts at five different venues in Tauranga from October 20 to October 22.

WHAT: A21 Walk for Freedom. The 3km walk is to raise awareness about modern day slavery and also fundraise for A21 that works on the front line to rescue, rehabilitate and prevent human trafficking.
WHERE: Banks Avenue, Mount Maunganui from 10am to 12pm. Register for the walk at www.a21.org or at the event.

WHAT: Myrtle Rust come along and learn how to identify invasive on our pohutukawa, kanuka, manuka and other native species. With summer fast approaching, our plants will be more susceptible to the damaging fungal disease so we want as many people as possible to be looking out for myrtle rust.

WHAT: Lizard Market. Stall holders selling hand-crafted goods, a small business owners, who are promoting their products and locally produced, veggies, plants and eggs.

WHAT: Oktoberfest at The Black Sheep with great food, German beer, live bands a superslide and bouncy castle to keep the kids entertained.
