A flurry of weather-related incidents have closed or partially closed several roads in Tauranga this evening.

A tree down at the intersection of Te Puna Station Rd and State Highway 2 has closed the northbound lane of Te Puna Station Rd.

A police spokeswoman said council had been advised and would clear the tree, while police helped with traffic control.

A tree down on Takitimu Drive between 11th and 15th Ave blocked one lane earlier today.

Due to flooding in Pongakawa motorists have been urged to drive with care.

Police were called at 4.50pm today to surface flooding on SH2 just north of Kaikokopu Rd.

Police spokeswoman said cars were able to go through though traffic management was in place.

A land slip in Te Puke on No 4 Rd has blocked the entire road.

Police spokeswoman said police were alerted to the slip at 4.20pm and council had been advised.

She said police urged motorists to drive with caution as the wet weather continued tonight.
