A truck driver was "fortunately" unscathed after hitting a large fallen tree on a highway this morning.
Police were alerted at 6.25am after the crash on State Highway 33 between Maniatutu Rd and Allport Rd.
"Fortunately the truck driver was uninjured. Both lanes were initially blocked," a police spokeswoman said.
There was no road block listed on the New Zealand Transport Agency website by 11am.
