UPDATE 3.10pm: A lane changing issue caused a car and truck to collide on Takitimu Dr early this afternoon.

Emergency services were at the scene where a truck and car collided on the north-bound lane.

Western Bay road policing senior sergeant Ian Campion said nobody was injured in the collision.

Mr Campion said the driver of the vehicle involved was "extremely fortunate" to escape with no injuries.

Mr Campion said the collision highlighted the need for motorists to make sure the lane they are changing into is clear.
