Three Tauranga Lotto wins - one worth $500,000

Three local Lotto players have won big this weekend, with one pocketing $500,000.

A MyLotto player from Tauranga was one of two First Division winners in Saturday night's live Lotto draw.

The other First Division win, also worth $500,000, was picked up by a punter in Hamilton.

There were two other Tauranga winners on Saturday with Lotto Second Division, each walking away with $22,377.

One of the winning tickets was sold at Mount Paper Power in Mount Maunganui and the other was a MyLotto player from Tauranga.

Altogether 11 players from around the country won Second Division.

Powerball was not struck on Saturday and has rolled over to Wednesday night, where the jackpot will be $10 million.

Meanwhile, a Lotto player in Waikanae won Strike Four on Saturday, taking home $100,000.

Anyone who bought their ticket from any of these winning stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at MyLotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ App.

Last weekend, a Lotto ticket sold at a Tauranga supermarket won $21,578.

The ticket was sold at Countdown Tauranga and was one of 11 to win in Lotto's Second Division.

And earlier this month, a Mount Maunganui woman carried a $1 million winning Lotto ticket in her purse for nearly a week with no idea of its worth.

She bought the ticket from Bayfair Lotto on a whim after a coffee date with a friend.

The next week she read in the news that a $1 million prize had been won in Mount Maunganui but "didn't think anything of it".

She was out buying groceries in Tauranga the following week when she remembered to check the ticket in her wallet.
