Three people have been rescued from a lift in the Coromandel.

Firefighters were called to the scene on Colville St in Coromandel Town about 4.07pm yesterday.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said they arrived just after 4.20pm and the people trapped were out within eight minutes.

He said it was not something that would be investigated.
