Three arrested after iron bar assault

Police have today arrested and charged three people in connection with an assault on a 23-year-old man with an iron bar on January 17.

A 21-year-old man has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

A 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman have also been charged with assault relating to the same incident.

Police would like to thank the public for their support during their investigation into the incident.

The 23-year-old victim is making progress in recovering from his injuries, but the long term outlook is still unknown.

The three accused are due to appear in the Tauranga District Court on February 12.
