Eight names from the Bay of Plenty have been listed in this year's National Business Review rich list.

Adrian Burr tops the Bay's Rich List followed buy Sir Colin Giltrap then Mark Wyborn.

New Zealand's homegrown Rich Listers collectively surpass $55 billion this year and,
when the New Zealand-based international billionaires
are included, the figure swells to $68.9 billion.

Bay rich listers are: Adrian Burr $380 million ($350m), Sir Colin Giltrap $360 million ($330m), Mark Wyborn $335 million ($320m), Gillespie family $210 million ($200m), Paul Adams $125 million ($125m), Noel Holyoake $120 million ($110m), Wendy Pye $105 million ($100m), Richard Izard $85 million ($80m).

NBR news editor Duncan Bridgeman said the growth in the total value of the list is an indication that most of the Rich Listers have been able to capitalise on their wealth to further increase their assets in the past 12 months.

"We have had some reductions in the value of some on the List but that is far outweighed by the increases and the newcomers we have identified," he said.
