A massive Tauranga City Council meeting kicks off this morning to tie up most of the loose ends before voters decide the shape of the new council on October 8.
The 667-page agenda includes re-visiting the decision on the 1000 to 1200-seat multi-purpose performance venue as part of thecouncil's civic heart redevelopment.
The council earlier this month decided to put the performance centre on the back-burner by agreeing to develop an indicative business case in the 2018-28 Long Term Plan.
"Council has since reconsidered this position. This report provides council with the opportunity to review their position on the timing of delivery of an indicative business case," the report to today's meeting said.
Other issues coming up for debate included engineering works to reduce flood risks in Mount Maunganui North, where new greenfield residential developments should be allowed to happen on the city fringes.
Asn well as planning the change impacting on the Tauriko Business Estate, a plan change for the Wairakei urban growth area, a bridge over the Kopurererua Stream on Kennedy Rd at The Lakes, and managing biosolids at the Te Maunga sewage treatment works.
Today's meeting was planned to go all day and could continue on Thursday.
