A vehicle crashed into a building in the Gate Pā shopping centre in Tauranga on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services were called just after 12pm after reports that a vehicle had collided with a building.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand confirmed that “a vehicle had crashed into a building”.

A worker at Coupland’s, the bakery involved, said a vehicle had gone into their building.

A police spokesperson said they received a report of a single vehicle crash where a car has collided with a building on Cameron Rd.

This is the second time the store has been hit.

On June 1, 2025, a Mercedes-Benz ploughed through the bakery’s window, causing significant damage.
