Tauranga police need the public’s help to identify two men who assaulted a man shortly after he hopped off a bus in Welcome Bay.

A police spokeswoman said the assault was reported to have occurred around 3.30pm in Orion Drive on Tuesday.

“Shortly after the man got off a bus and walked down the street, he was approached by two unknown men, and punched and kicked.

The man wasn’t seriously hurt but was “understandably shaken by the incident”.

The spokesperson said any witnesses or anyone with any information that could assist the police were urged to come forward.
