Sixteen-year-old Tauranga pilot Erin Carter took the prize for New Zealand's Top Young Eagle at the Flying NZ nationals hosted by the Tauranga Aero Club last week.
David Campbell won the spot landing and streamer cutting contests while Daryl Hone won the bombing and pre-flight and defect identification disciplines. MrCampbell was also part of Tauranga's winning formation flying team that went on to represent New Zealand against the Australian team.
The other two formation flyers were Shane Anderson and John Brunskill. Second for instrument flying was Ike Stephens.
