The Tauranga team from PGG Wrightson Real Estate has walked away from a national awards night with a big win.

At the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand's national awards last week, the team won national Large Rural Office of the Year for the second year running.

The award recognised total revenue generated from the sales of rural farms, orchards and lifestyle properties.

PGG Wrightson's general manager of real estate Peter Newbold said he was "extremely proud" of the Tauranga team for its win.

"It is a testament to the hard work and dedication by an excellent team of sales people."

Regional manager of PGG Wrightson Real Estate Mike McCullough said he believed the diligence of the agents on the team and being New Zealand's oldest rural brand gave vendors trust and confidence.

Mr McCullough said he was proud the Tauranga agents could continue to lay claim to being New Zealand's "number one rural team of real estate agents".

"We've had another great year and it's really nice to be recognised nationally. The salespeople we have are results-driven but they are also a very knowledgeable and fun bunch."

The Tauranga team also did well at PGG Wrightson Real Estate's own national awards this week.

It was the most profitable region overall and for rural sales.

Agent Stan Robb won the supreme award for top salesperson by income, also taking home first in rural unit sales, top rural revenue and the award for the single largest sale.

Andrew Fowler won an award for excellence in VPA (vendor paid advertising) as well as first in lifestyle revenue and fifth in rural revenue.

Wendy Matutinovich won fifth for residential sales and Phil Goldsmith 10th for rural sales.

Dave McLaren and Scott Cameron won an award for marketing excellence recognising their work on the auction of a dairy farm in Waihi. Mr McCullough said they attracted more than 100 people to the auction and the price was a million more than the vendor has been expecting.

A story in yesterday's Bay of Plenty Times business section about the REINZ awards should have included PGG Wrightson as a Bay of Plenty-based winner.
