The Welcome Bay Community Centre is hosting its traditional annual State of the Local Nation Breakfast this Friday in collaboration with the Tauranga Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Tauranga group.

The keynote speakers are Tauranga MP Todd Muller and Priority One chief executive Nigel Tutt.

Mr Muller will be giving his annual message on the state of the national and local economy, and his inside perspective on the government's vision and priorities under Prime Minister Bill English.

Mr Muller said he would also be discussing the implications of the US election result and the potential affect of the new Donald Trump presidency on the local and New Zealand economy.

Mr Tutt, who took up his role late last year, will use one of his first public addresses to describe his early impressions of the local business community and outline details of Priority One's plans for helping build the Western Bay of Plenty economy.

In addition, Zita Cameron will outline the development of the Small Business Tauranga group launched by the chamber last year.
