The team at Tauranga Monthly Film Nights is thrilled to announce the full feature documentary 'A Simpler Way - Crisis as Opportunity' will be screened at 7.00pm this Friday July 15th at the Wesley Centre.

The film sold out to a full house at the premiere in Melbourne recently.

Both the filmmaker, Jordan Osmond, and one of the members of the cast, Antoinette Wilson, will be present on the evening.

Jordan and Antoinette from 'Happen Films' will speak about the documentary. They will field questions from the audience about the making of the film and their experiences.

During 2015 in response to many of the global crises - climate change, peak oil and economic uncertainty - a small community was formed in an emerging ecovillage in Gippsland, Victoria. The community explored options for living a simpler more sustainable way of life. As well as reducing material consumption, the group experimented with permaculture, alternative technology and reimagining a more meaningful life beyond consumer culture.

The documentary also presents new and exclusive interviews with leading activists and educators in the world's most promising social movements, including: David Holmgren (co-founder of permaculture), Helena Norberg-Hodge (localisation), Ted Trainer (The Simpler Way), Nicole Foss (Energy and Finance), Bill Metcalf (Intentional Communities) and Graham Turner (Limits to Growth).

The screening will be followed by audience discussion with director Jordan Osmond and participant Antoinette Wilson. The MC will be Andrew Martin of Rethink Consulting. Some local initiatives will have tables/stalls set up with information on ways to develop a simpler, more rewarding way of living.

RSVPs, please, to tmfn2007@gmail.com or phone Ron and Gillian on 07 544 5360.

7.00pm Friday July 15th at the Wesley Centre, 100 Thirteenth Avenue. Entry $8.00 cash only at door includes light refreshments.
