Cohen Ratcliffe, 27, had just entered a plea of not guilty to wounding with intent and was remanded into custody when he leapt from the dock on July 9.
Ratcliffe ran from the courtroom outside, wherehe fled down the street with security tailing him. However, he got away and has not been seen since. Ratcliffe appeared on Police Ten-7 last week but has not yet been found.
Tauranga police Senior Sergeant Carl Purcell said Ratcliffe was still wanted by police, who believed he was still "laying low" locally.
Mr Purcell said if anyone recognised Ratcliffe, he should not be approached and people should call their local police station or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Ratcliffe fled from the court, which was busy with crowds of people gathered to witness the next appearance of AC/DC rocker Phil Rudd later that morning.
Rudd was up on charges of breaching his home detention conditions.
