A Tauranga City Council team has taken out first place in an Australasian management challenge.
A release from Tauranga City Council said their team 'Blue Sky' has won first place in the 2015 Local Government Management Association challenge.
TCC's Communications Manager Aimee Driscoll said the win is exceptional as thisis only the second time TCC have participated in this competition that has been going for 20 years.
"TCC has won the New Zealand round, which means the team now heads to Melbourne in June to take on the Australians. The TCC team was one of nine that competed from around NZ,"
"This win represents two months of hard work for the multi-disciplinary team who, until the challenge, had not worked together before. The team had to deliver a paper, create a video and develop a supporting infographic on our employee value proposition,"
The major objective of the challenge was to provide local government employees in Australia and New Zealand with a highly relevant learning experience in management and teamwork.
Garry Poole, Chief Executive Officer for Tauranga City Council, said the achievement recognises the skill of our team and thanked them for the way they have represented TCC and Tauranga City.
"This is a great personal and professional development opportunity for us and will continue to be offered as part of our organisation development programme."
