Organisers of the revamped Tauranga Business Awards are promising audiences a “rare behind-the-scenes look” at the region’s top-performing businesses next year.

Tickets are on sale for Tauranga Business Chamber’s annual black-tie event recognising business excellence, innovation, and leadership in the Western Bay of Plenty.

Chamber chief executive Matt Cowley says the refreshed awards night will highlight the thinking and drive behind those achievements.

“Behind these businesses are people taking risks, solving problems, and contributing to growth, and this is an incredible opportunity for people to hear their stories directly.”

Newstalk ZB radio hosts Matt Heath and Tyler Adams will be co-MCing the event on March 12, at Mercury Baypark Arena.

“Bringing Matt and Tyler on board adds something new – their interview style is sharp, engaging, and fun and will give guests a rare behind-the-scenes look at our winners,” Cowley said.

Heath and Adams said they were looking forward to bringing their trademark conversational, energetic style to the awards.

“We’re excited to head to Tauranga for the 2026 Business Awards and celebrate the ambition, creativity and determination driving local businesses forward.

“The Bay always delivers exceptional talent, and we’re thrilled to be part of the event that recognises it.”

The Newstalk ZB duo will conduct on-stage interviews with category winners, delving into what drives the most successful organisations.

Cowley said the awards were a chance for the business community to start 2026 with momentum, and he encouraged local businesses, supporters and clients to get behind the finalists by attending.

Tickets are on sale via the chamber’s website for the event, which is supported by Deloitte and Farmer Autovillage.

Individual tickets start at $185 for prime or premium chamber members, with other single and group pricing tiers ranging up to table of 10 for $1800.

Editor’s note: NZME’s Newstalk ZB and the Bay of Plenty Times are sponsors of the Tauranga Business Awards.
