The Tauranga SPCA is continuously lost for words in its attempt to show appreciation to the people of the Bay of Plenty for the generous donations we receive whether they are goods, food, your precious time or of a monetary nature.
We are overwhelmed with your generosity and we sincerely thank
you for this. We could not operate the shelter and give the animals the care and the chance that they deserve without these donations.
Unfortunately, I must once again appeal to your good natures and ask for help.
With the increasing amount of dreadful weather and lack of wind on a fine day, we are finding it impossible to dry all our laundry.
No sooner do we manage to catch up with the drying, we are once again faced with mounting baskets of wet washing - too much for our poor dryer to cope with.
We had our concerns as to the pressure we were putting our faithful dryer under and these concerns were soon to be realised, as with a shake and a bang, it was all over.
Our hopes of having the dryer repaired dissolved when the kind repair man refused to fix our faithful friend, stating our dryer was too far past its use-by date.
We continue to utilise every inch of our three washing lines and any other space that is suitable to hang a blanket or two.
However, as the days and nights get considerably colder, more blankets are given to the animals in the hope of keeping them warm and comfortable.
We are sure no one could find fault in that but in return, the amount of laundry is harder to dry without a dependable dryer to help us.
For this reason, we humbly ask for your help again. Does anyone have a large tumble dryer they no longer use and would be willing to donate to the Tauranga SPCA to help us with our now increasing laundry problem?
If you are able to help, please contact Margaret by phoning 07 578 2784.
We can guarantee your donation will be greatly appreciated and very well used. Thank you.
