A trailer is on fire in a property in Ohauiti.

Fire Service northern communications shift manager Jarron Philips said fire services had just arrived on the scene.

There was no house or people in danger, he said.

Mr Philips said residents in the area initially thought the fire had the ability to spread to dwellings.

The fire was believed to have started in water blasting equipment on the trailer.

Three fire trucks were at the property on Hannah Dr to put out the fire.
