Two young Bay of Plenty children were flown to hospital in separate emergency flights this week.

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter flew an 8-year-old Whakatane girl to Tauranga Hospital with serious bleeding after tonsil surgery.
The following day, a 7-month old boy needed specialist surgery for an abscess which was
causing breathing difficulties. . He was flown to Waikato Hospital, accompanied by his grandmother.
