Section of Strand walkway to close for a week

A section of wooden walkway on The Strand in the Tauranga CBD will close for repairs from this afternoon.

The Tauranga City Council said in a statement that the section that connects the waterfront to the Matapihi Rail Bridge and Harbourside restaurant area will be closed.

It would remain closed for the rest of the week while contractors make repairs.

Pedestrians were asked to use the footpath on the neighbouring road.
