Second phase of EPIC Te Puke spring clean takes place next week

The second phase of EPIC Te Puke's town clean up springs into action next week.

A community clean up day held on September 9 collected close to 200kg of rubbish and recycling from the CBD.

The next step in the town centre clean up is to provide 100 town centre businesses with buckets and cleaning spray, cloths, gloves anti viral spray and kiwifruit decals.

On Tuesday the cleaning kits will be made up and distributed to the downtown businesses.

The Cleaning Guy - aka Nafi Lutui - will give the shop windows that need it a wash.

EPIC Te Puke marketing manager Rebecca Larsen said the clean up day drew a great response from the community.

She said the empty shops in particular are looking drab and that improving the appearance of the town centre was important if people were to be attracted to come and shop in Te Puke.
