It is already semifinals and finals time for some Baywide divisions across Bay of Plenty tomorrow.

But not yet in Baywide Premier 1 where there is still one crucial round of pool play before next Saturday's semifinalists are known.

Heading into what is sure to be a day of delight for some teams and heartbreak for others, there are six teams in the mix vying for a top four spot.

With four points for a win and a bonus point for finishing within seven points there is room for plenty of late charges to host a semifinal or make the playoffs.

Defending champions Rangataua Sports and Te Puke Sports are on 21, ahead of Mount Maunganui Sports (20), Rotoiti (19), Te Puna (16) and Greerton Marist (15).

Rangataua are favoured to beat Tauranga Sports (14) at home while Greerton Marist need to topple Te Puke at Greerton Park and hope Rotoiti get nothing from their local derby clash away to Whakarewarewa.

Perhaps the game of the round is at Blake Park where home team Mount Maunganui host Te Puna which should be a classic spectacle of running rugby - weather permitting.

Certainly there is still plenty of intrigue and uncertainty as to who makes the top four which has made this year's club competition so enjoyable.
