The rise of key forwards into Super Rugby and test ranks were among highlights of the Bay of Plenty Representative Rugby awards in Rotorua.

The success of Nathan Harris, Sam Cane and Brodie Retallick in the All Blacks' set-up, and the Super Rugby contracts earned by Kane Hames, Pingi Tala'apitaga and Culum Retallick, were celebrated alongside age-grade achievements.

Highlights for the Development team included Te Rangi Fraser, Vyron Smith, Nic Evemy and Beau Williams' elevation to the Steamers.

Six Bay players, Morgan Morrow, Luka Connor, Animei Skudder, Billie Raynes, Hana Tapiata and Kendra Reynolds, were included in the national performance Black Ferns squad.

Bay of Plenty chief executive Mike Rogers said: "We have some outstanding players in the Bay as well as coaches, referees and volunteers."
