A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged after allegedly leading police on two chases in the Bay of Plenty.
Police say the Rotorua man first failed to stop in the Brent Rd area about 8.50am yesterday.
The short pursuit was abandoned in Morey St and the police reported the vehicle was last seen being driven at speed on Tarawera Rd.
The same vehicle was seen again around 2:30pm on Te Ngae Road, Owhata.
Officers pursued him again and allege he drove across a median barrier and attempted to drive the vehicle at an officer laying road spikes before police abandoned the pursuit.
The man was arrested later that evening and has been charged with failing to stop and unlawfully being in a motor vehicle.
Further charges were likely.
He was due to appear in the Rotorua District Court today.
