The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter has transported a 27-year-old man to Middlemore Hospital with spinal injuries suffered in a crash.

The man was a driver of a car that crashed at Whanarua Bay on Novermber 2. He suffered a suspected spinal injured.

He was stabilised at the scene by paramedics, before being flown to Middlemore Spinal Unit for assessment and treatment.

The driver and passengers of the other vehicle suffered moderate injuries and were taken to Te Kaha Medical Centre via road ambulance.
