Rescue helicopter call out to Waihi Beach

The Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was called out to Waihi Beach last night.

The helicopter transported a 65-year-old woman with a serious medical condition that required immediate hospital care to Waikato Hospital at 10pm.

The patient was driven by ambulance to Waihi Beach airfield and was stabilised at the scene by St John paramedics before being flown to hospital.

The helicopter was called due to the nature of the medical condition and distance to the required hospital.
