Ram-raiders still at large

Police are still searching for the culprits behind an overnight smash and grab where about $12,000 worth of clothing was stolen.

A vehicle rammed into the front of the Kathmandu store in Fraser Cove shopping centre late on Sunday night.

Senior Sergeant Rob Glencross said police were yet to make an arrest.

"There's about $12,000 worth of gear taken. That's 33 items in total, which were women's and men's jackets," he added.

"We've done forensic examinations that we are waiting on the results of, and there is still some ongoing work that we are doing."

Mr Glencross said police would not release some details about the ram raid, such as what type vehicle was used, while they were looking for the offenders.

"I can't speculate on whether they were interrupted or not," Mr Glencross said.

"Smash and grabs are generally very quick, in and out."

Police would like to hear from anyone who might have noticed suspicious activity in the area that night, or who might have been offered cheap Kathmandu jackets.
