One person remains in Tauranga Hospital today with serious injuries following yesterday's fatal crash near Whakamarama.
An elderly woman was killed in the head-on collision, which happened near the intersection of State Highway 2 and Te Puna Quarry Rd about 3pm on Sunday.
Police have released a statement calling foranyone who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicles before the crash to come forward.
The vehicles were a white Toyota and a dark-coloured Mazda ute.
