Police are seeking the driver who fled the scene of a crash in Welcome Bay. Photo/file

The driver of a car which fled the scene of a crash which left a woman hurt and alone is yet to be found by police.

Emergency services were called to a crash involving two cars at the intersection of Welcome Bay Rd and Kaitemako Rd just after 5.30pm yesterday.

A police spokeswoman said the driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene in their car.

"Police are making enquiries to locate the driver."

A woman received moderate injuries following the crash.

The crash blocked a lane of Welcome Bay Rd as emergency services responded.
