Police searching for fleeing driver after motorcyclist seriously injured in Katikati

Police are still trying to find the driver of a car who fled after a crash which seriously injured a motorcyclist in Katikati.

Police were called to the intersection of Earl Drive and Main Rd around 10.10am yesterday.

A spokeswoman the person on the motorbike was seriously injured in a crash with a car and the driver of the car had fled the scene.

A St John media spokeswoman said one ambulance took the person with serious injured to Tauranga Hospital.

This morning a police spokeswoman said inquiries were ongoing to locate the driver and the motorcyclist remained in Tauranga Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
