Police operation underway on Waihi Rd, Tauranga

There is a heavy police presence on Waihi Rd in Tauranga.

An eyewitness told the Bay of Plenty Times there were a lot of police vehicles on the road.

A police media spokesman said an arrest warrant was executed with the help of the Armed Offender Squad and an individual was in police custody.

A reporter at the scene said three or four police cars were parked near Tallulah Recycled Clothing Boutique, some marked and some unmarked.
