Tauranga police are seeking help from members of the public to identify a group of men involved in an alleged sexual assault of a teenager.
Detective Sergeant Alan Kingsbury said police were investigating an altercation between a woman in her late teens and a group of men in Willow Stin the vicinity of the old Post Office Building about 1am this morning.
"The woman alleged was then sexually assaulted a short time later."
A member of the public reported the altercation to the police.
He is appealing for witnesses or for anyone who was in the area to contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300.
